I recently learned a quick way to get to your Direct Messages and to Account Switching on the Twitter mobile app (I am using an iPhone).  Knowing these helps me not hate the Twitter app as much as I do. Pass it on!

Just met @VinceYoung. Good luck this next football season! Thx for beating down #USC! #BoomerSooner (Taken with Instagram at Vince Young Steakhouse)

“Cool” intro video for the 2012 Oklahoma City Addy Awards. Great work by Steve Jones - Digital DK, Brian Winkeler - Robot House Creative, Simon Hurst - Simon Hurst Photography and Phillip Schroeder - PhilsCreative.com on the production.

Visited the Winchester Mansion in #SanJose. It was crazy and odd and right up my alley! (Taken with Instagram at Winchester Mystery House)

Breakdown of Interactive Links in Super Bowl Commercials

As a Interactive professional I can’t help but observe how large brands use super bowl commercials to hook into their online and social media presences.  Last year during the 2011 Super Bowl I found that brands were dropping their corporate web addresses for their Facebook vanity URL’s.  This year I took notes, here is what I found.

  • 38 commercials displayed brand domain names. (ex. Chevy.com)
  • 8 commercials displayed social media links. (ex. Facebook.com/Battleship)
  • 4 commercials called out twitter hashtags (ex. #SoLongVampires)
  • 2 commercials displayed Shazam badges (ex. Cars.com)
  • 1 commercial displayed a QR code on the screen (GoDaddy.com)

Other custom URL’s to visit:

Other hashtags to search:

  • #MakeItPlatinum used by Bud Light (in two different spots)
  • #SoLongVampires used by Audi
  • #BetterWay used by BestBuy
  • #WhatWorks used by GE

If your curious, here are my TOP 5 COMMERCIALS from Super Bowl 46:

  1. Chevy’s post apocalyptic commercial (I loved the cameo from Hostess/Twinkie)
  2. Chrysler’s Imported From Detroit with Clint Eastwood - “It’s halftime America”
  3. Kia a Ferry Dust (This was the only commercial that literally made me LOL!)
  4. Audi Vampire Commercial (I’m a sucker for undead humor)
  5. Honda’s Ferris Bueller Commercial (Save Ferris!)

This last weekend Oklahoma and even some surrounding states experienced Earthquakes and aftershocks.  Amazingly ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit was caught on camera live during the earthquake that took place immediately after the down to the wire OSU vs. Kansas State football game in Stillwater.  The look on Kirk’s face when the quake hit was simply priceless.

FACT: In 2011 in Oklahoma we had the coldest temperature, most snow in 24 hours, highest wind speed, EF5 tornado, largest hail and now the strongest earthquake.

There’s only ONE Oklahoma!

Another instance of Kevin Durant being amazing.  He decides he needs something to do on Halloween so after getting an invite on Twitter he drove up to Stillwater to play Flag Football with the Sigma Nu’s.  Thanks for being real KD.

A mash-up video from my most favorite television/movie football coach ever. Coach Taylor from Friday Night Lights. If you have not seen this series you need to watch it immediatly.  The second season was a little messed up but power through it, it great better and better.  If you have clear eyes and full hearts will cannot lose.
